💬 Networking Tips from Van Gogh 🎒 30% OFF on ALL Courses with Back-to-School Sale

Hey Reader, 👋

Have you ever taken a moment to reflect on your network? Who are the people you surround yourself with, both personally and professionally? Have you ever thought about the impact they have on your growth and aspirations?

Consider this: Great things often happen when you put yourself in rooms with smart, ambitious, and kind individuals. Your network can be a powerful catalyst for personal and professional development.

Vincent van Gogh, the famous artist, didn't become a legend in isolation. His brother, Theo, believed in his talent and supported him. Vincent collaborated with fellow artist Paul Gauguin, resulting in some of his most iconic works. He drew inspiration from Impressionist and Post-Impressionist movements, and he had mentors like Anton Mauve. Surrounding himself with talented and influential people shaped his artistic journey.

And it's not just with Van Gogh - if you look into many of these stories of famous individuals (from Ancient Greek philosopher Aristotle to the King of Pop Art Andy Warhol and beyond), there is often a network of teachers and mentors behind each of them that helped to grow and develop unique style.

Now, here are three practical tips to help you make the most of your network:

  1. 🎯 Identify Your Goals: Be clear about your personal and professional objectives. Know what you want to achieve, and seek out individuals who can help you get there (last week, I shared with you Odyssey framework which can be used to define your goals).
  2. 🧭 Diversify Your Connections: Don't limit yourself to one type of network. Build connections with mentors, peers, and those who challenge your perspective. Each offers unique opportunities for growth. Source connections which give you new energy but don't source it from you.
  3. 💁‍♀️ Offer Value: Networking isn't just about taking; it's also about giving. Be helpful and supportive to those in your network. Generosity often leads to support.

📌 Curious Muse advice: Remember, your network can be a powerful force for growth. So, take a moment to reflect on your current connections. Do you often find yourself in the right room? Are you surrounded by smart, ambitious and kind individuals who inspire you, challenge you and help you become the best version of yourself?
